REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL > INSTALLATION

1. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.

2. Using SST and a hammer, evenly tap the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

   NOTICE:

   1. Keep the lip free from foreign materials.
      
   2. Do not tap on the oil seal at an angle.
      
   3. Wipe off extra grease on the crankshaft.
      

   HINT:

   The pressing-in depth should be within the range of -1 mm and 0.5 mm from the rear oil seal retainer edge.

1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
   

   SST

   09960-10010   (09962-01000, 09963-01000)
   

2. Clean the 6 bolts and the 6 bolt holes.
   

3. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt end.
   

   Adhesive:

   Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.
   

4. Install the front drive plate spacer.

   HINT:

   The front spacer is reversible.

5. Install the drive plate and rear drive plate spacer onto the crankshaft.
   

6. In several steps, uniformly install and tighten the 6 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
   

   Torque:

   78 N*m{ 800 kgf*cm , 58 ft.*lbf }

1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
   

   SST

   09960-10010   (09962-01000, 09963-01000)
   

2. Clean the 6 bolts and the 6 bolt holes.
   

3. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt end.
   

   Adhesive:

   Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.
   

4. Install the flywheel sub-assembly with the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
   

   Torque:

   78 N*m{ 800 kgf*cm , 58 ft.*lbf }

1. Install the continuously variable transaxle assembly (Click here).
   

1. Install the clutch disc assembly (Click here).
